Ruth Berhe, better known by her stage name Ruth B., is a Canadian singer and songwriter from Edmonton.
In December of 2014, Ruth B. captured hearts all over the world when she uploaded a short clip to the video-sharing network Vine. The song was the start of an original composition, which became her Multi-Platinum hit, “Lost Boy”.
This incredibly beautiful and natural sounding vocal/piano melody suddenly exploded across the internet. As the independently released popularity of “Lost Boy” grew exponentially, Ruth B. then earned the interest of Columbia Records who would later sign her in July of 2015.
By 2016 Ruth B. had established herself as an authentic singer/songwriter of considerable promise and purpose, receiving a coveted Juno Award for Breakthrough Artist of the Year and a BMI Pop Award for “Lost Boy”. Following the massive success of “Lost Boy” being certified 3X Platinum in the US, 4X Platinum in Canada, and 2X Platinum in Sweden, 2017 saw the release of her 12-song debut album, Safe Haven which was produced by Joel Little, producer of Lorde’s debut album.
Today, “Lost Boy” has over 450 Million Streams song streams, with The Intro EP, and Safe Haven album both approaching Gold sales status. Ruth continues to sell out live shows across the US and Canada, while intimately touching her fans with her incredible vocal and piano interpretations of life and love – she does it like no one else today can with honesty, intelligence and compassion.
