NEWS: @Real_Tellaman SIGNS TO @UMGLive

Posted By Brasmoove

Tellaman has a story to tell a man: He has put pen to paper & is now signed to Universal Music Group (UMG).

Brother man has been nice with the vocals. If you don’t believe me, ask your girl. So it would only be right for him to get attention from a major record label like UMG. He also signed with UMG Live for all his bookings.

He has performed the role of live entertainer, singer, producer and songwriter at different times in his career thus far working with the likes of Nasty C, Okmalumkoolkat, Aewon Wolf, D-Malice (UK), Cuebur, Mustafa (Brazil), Jonny Miller (UK), Kwesta, Shane Eagle and many more.…

THE CRITIC | @AKAworldwide Touch My Blood Review

Posted By Circus Recipe

The weekend of June 15/16, 2018 will go down as one of the most exciting weekends in music history. The amount of big name artists that released music internationally & locally was unprecedented. One of the most anticipated releases, if not the most anticipated release of the year as far as South African Hip Hop is concerned was AKA‘s 3rd studio album which also happens to be his 1st independent album, TOUCH MY BLOOD.

AKA has teased this album for as long as most will care to remember. Having released numerous singles as precursors to it, many were left wondering how the actual album will sound like and which tracks will make the final cut.…

THE CRITIC: @gdvbcye_sa – ANTISOCIAL EP

Posted By Brasmoove

On this take of The Critic, we look at an EP from a Vaal-based urban poet whose name is pronounced Good Vibe Cye & is written as GBVBCYE.

It is ironic that his name expects social interaction yet his EP is titled Antisocial. Whether this was done on purpose is something we can debate on another day. Today, the question is: Does Antisocial suck? Thankfully, the answer is no.

The first track, Introvert starts off with a smooth keyboard riff and then a booming voice spits: “Gotta do what I know, never gave a damn.“, which is followed by a pair of crisp drums & a short but powerful bass line.…

NEW MUSIC: @MrCashtime FT @CassperNyovest – #WayaWaya

Posted By Brasmoove

KO got the hip hop nation talking yesterday, when he announced that he’ll be releasing 2 tracks featuring AKA & Cassper Nyovest. I thought he was going to feature both of them on 1 track. Eh, close enough,

I already liked Waya Waya because it starts with fluits.

KO goes all the way in & Cassper has still not dropped a whack verse in vernac.

“Re a di busa waya waya” goes the hook on a bass heavy skhanda tinged beat.

This will make you wanna dust off your All Stars and do the swagger walk.

Listen to Waya Waya below:

NEW MUSIC VIDEO: @supamanmusic – #NAOFALHA

Posted By Brasmoove

Look, up in the sky! Is it a bird—-nah, enough of that cliche shit. Mozambique-based DJ Supaman has dropped the visuals to his club banger, Não Falha.

Não Falha is Portuguese talk for “no failing”. A sentiment that we at Thinksllow.com can subscribe to.

As usual, The Midnight Hero is never by himself. He brings along the following to the party: Laylizzy, Ellputo, Slick & Bangla 10.

This one is served best on a Friday afternoon, straight after work & straight into turn up.

Watch the Não Falha video (directed by CR Boy) below:

@PUSHA_T BROUGHT BACK THE DIS IN DISRESPECT

Posted By Brasmoove

I was thinking of making a US-Russia Cold War metaphor to describe the Pusha T & Drake situation. But to compare a rap beef to a potential geopolitical nuclear crisis is silly as Huey Freeman best described this as “just some dumb niggas beefing”. Needless to say, the rap community has been craving a worthwhile rap beef for a cool minute. So let’s break down what we know so far.

Their beef has been brewing for the longest time with subliminals being shot from both G.O.O.D Music & Young Money camps. On one corner, there’s a stuck-in-the-90s rapper with a hairstyle that was trending when his brother (and, not him) was pushing drugs.…

Posted By Paul Crowley

The Coolest Kid in Africa readies his highly anticipated second album, Strings And Bling. Today, he breezed back onto the music scene with two new singles: ‘King’and Jungle.’

Aint no rules in the jungle, Nasty C declares on the latter. Produced by American beatsmith, Cody Rhones,‘Jungle’ is a trap-happy song. It is also a meditation on the 031’s most wanted rapper’s experience of the concrete jungle that is Johannesburg.

“The jungle is ekasi where anything and everything happens,” said Nasty C. “It’s where people live recklessly. There are no rules because you can do whatever you want.

EVENT: DRINKING FROM THE #TSHWANEFONTEIN

Posted By Brasmoove

If you have not been living in a cave, then you are familiar with the most anticipated monthly event in Pitori. The good people at Homecoming Events & Park Acoustics hosted the 18th edition of Tshwanefontein this past weekend at the African Beer Emporium in the 012 Central courtyard & it was nothing less than fire.

The locals call it Fontein because it is a fountain of groove, fountain of drinks, fountain of happy & awkward reunions. Basically, a fountain of good times where you can eat your youth. Most people out here have the last Sunday of every month marked on their calendars.…

THE CRITIC | @PrinceKaybee_SA – Club Controller (Remix)

Posted By Paul Crowley

As if the club banger hadn’t had us losing control already, Prince Kaybee drops the remix to his star-studded track “Club Controller“, and it features some of the hottest house musicians in South Africa, ever.

The remix drops with it’s the music video. Though it seems low budget, it is still so much fun watching it. With each artist taking turns on their verses and showing us some dance moves, whilst replaying their studio time in the booth.

In the song, Ms. Club Controller Zanda Zakuza already knows we want to want to dance to this and starts off by telling us to get into the groove, Naak MusiQ takes over and says we shouldn’t be afraid to lose our morals, Nokwazi was going to keep calm now she sees it is better to just “teka famba”, Ziyon soothes the ladies and gets them ready to be controlled, and Mpumi blames the song for wanting to give it all up.…
