You may not know Mandy Ndebele yet, but she might be South Africa’s next top plus size model.
The Joburg based multi-hyphenate has many talents under her disposal. She has always had a passion for modeling and the media industry, ever since she won Little Miss Johannesburg when she was 12.
Now at 30, Mandy has set her sites on conquering the beauty pageant space. If Mandy has her way, she could be representing South Africa in the Miss Plus World pageant in Atlanta, Georgia.
Mandy has been nominated for Best Plus Size Model at the South African Models Awards that will take place in September 2020. She is also a finalist for Miss South Africa Plus World, scheduled to take place in April 2021.
Besides her modelling work, Mandy has her eggs in many baskets. Mandy is also about the empowerment game; women empowerment to be exact. She is a co-founder of Arisen Golden Angels Foundation, which was created to encourage and build women through women events and voluntary work.
Also, she partnered with eKasi Fashion Week and started a campaign called Sdudla Esine Confidence, a body positivity movement that aims to hosting fashion shows, photo-shoots, workshops and
charity work just to give back to the community.
On top of that, Mandy also hosts a weekly radio show on African Vibe Radio & recently started making moves to become an TV personality. One can only wonder what else Mandy has up her sleeve.
When asked about her hopes for Miss South Africa Plus World, she said that while its her first time dabbling with pageants, she is making sure to bring the crown home. The confidence that shines on her will surely inspire those around her.
