NEWS: @Kannon_Ihy IS HAVING A LISTENING SESSION FOR 4:28 EP

Kannon Ihy is due to have a listening session to his new material this Friday

Friday 28 June 2019 is the day that new material will be released to the Johannesburg hip hop loving masses. This time around, it will be provided by an urban poet by the name of Kannon Ihy

He is set to launch his E.P Titled 4:28 at Metanoia, Braamfontein with an exclusive listening session. But you may be asking yourself: who is this dude?

Khauhelo Botha (Born 28 April 1992), better known by his stage name Kannon Ihy (pronounced cannon eye), is a South African Rapper, Record Producer and songwriter. Around this time last year, he released his 1st critically acclaimed mixtape titled “New Wave” followed by a series of freestyles.

He then dropped singles such as “Ice in my Veins” and “November 4th” along with other various songs he was featured in. He has performed in one of the hottest venues In Johannesburg such as Cantare, Hydro Lounge JHB, Republic of 94 and Dorkay Rooftop to name a few.

His recent single titled “Beast Mode” was released May 2019 across all online music streaming platforms and have been getting good reviews from the masses.

We have it on good authority that Kannon has some heavy hitters on the production side of things for 4:28. One such hitter is Mashbeatz of TWC, who is known for his soulful yet hard hitting instrumentals. Another is  American producer Majestic Drama, who has worked with artists such as Wale, Rich The Kid, Fetty Wap and Kid Ink.

Kannon’s team believes that the track with Majestic Drama is one that will light up the South African night skies. Especially with this new Alternative Trapsoul sound he’s introducing to South Africa. We can’t wait to find out. The listening session should be a dope one and the Thinksllow team will be on deck to give feedback on the happenings.

You can also listen to Kannon Ihy’s music on his Soundcloud page.
