Africa's Biggest Hip-Hop festival set to take over Johannesburg for 13th time!

It’s that time of the year again. Africa’s Mecca of Hip Hop, Back To The City, is to return for its thirhteenth year on saturday 27 April

Taking place at the Mary Fitzgeral Square in Newtown, Johannesburg, the festival celebrates all things Hip-Hop with a series of performances, interactive talks, live graffiti art,stalls, gaming zone, dance competitions, DJs, basketball, a skatepark, fashion show, rap battles, mouthpiece beat box battles, comedians, bands and an alternative stage, football and high-energy workshops all showcasing a the diversity of Hip Hop. The magnitude of this event, the growth it has enjoyed over the years signifies too, the stranglehold Hip Hop has on South African urban culture.

With headline acts already confirmed including EPMD, Stogie T, Cassper Nyovest, Ricky Rick, Youngsta CPT, Damani Nkosi, J Live amongst others. . .  the festival will feature appearances from some of the best national and international artists as well as showcasing some of the city’s finest local talents from the underground, the dungeon to the mainstream. . . It’s all Hip-Hop for everyone showcasing national and international artists, performers and partners, bringing together the Hip-Hop community for a celebration of music, dance and spoken word.
