Sometimes, dope music hits you where you least expect it. For me, it happened while trawling through my twitter timeline and found a young 30 second teaser. Had no choice but to listen to the whole song and see what’s good.
So, this urban poet goes by the name of Glxry (pronounced Glory) and comes straight outta Bloemfontein. The track is Gatta Go, another one of those go-and-get-it type of tracks. These bars convinced me:
Who’s the plug?
I push numbers like a ruler does
Give em hell, they fin’ to call me Lucifer
Scoop you up like a Uber does
Who you trust? Get bread like a unit trust
Ya ya, clout chasing is a no no
I was in the street like a hobo, now we ’bout to go pro

The soundbed is produced by Monstah reminds me of amusement park music mixed with Xanax – that means its bright yet dark and woozy at the same time.
My only gripe is that Gatta Go is too damn short. But it’s also fine.
The link for Gatta Go right…here.
