EVENT: GOING DEEPER AND DEEPER AT THE #TRANCEMICSOULSESSIONS

Posted By Brasmoove

When I got the word that tickets for the 1 year celebration of the Trancemicsoul Sessions were live, I had to break my “no groove” fast. The plan was to be out of the streets until September but then life laughed at my plan.

But a good deep house event hosted at one of my favourite spots in the Capital City – African Beer Emporium (ABE) – is a valid excuse to re-enter the skreets. So re-enter, I did.

The Trancemicsoul Sessions goes down on the 1st Saturday of every month and you can get in for free by registering on the link that Trancemicsoul drops on his socials.…

THE CRITIC | Destroyed And Rebuilt: @TWCTheGOV Re-writing the Game with Long Lost Letters (L3)

Posted By Circus Recipe

Leaving Ambitious Entertainment has been the best decision thus far in A-Reece‘s career. He’s been making some of the best music of his life and “L3 (Long Lost Letters)” is a potent addition to that impressive list. A joint project with two of his (The) Wrecking Crew compatriots, Ecco and Wordz, “L3” has been a delightful, regular listening experience for the past two weeks.

The project boasts 9 tracks produced by the ever so talented MashBeatz, whose production blends seamlessly with Reece, Ecco and Wordz’ flows. The production truly is the highlight because it just sounds so pristine.…

NEW WORK: @Sjava_ATM – #UMPHAKO EP

Posted By Brasmoove

Fresh off his Viewers’ Choice Best International Act win at the recent BET Awards, brother man Sjava decided to bless us with some new work.

As they say in Pidgin: Sjava no dey tire. He probably thought it would be best to not rest on his laurels and keeping on dropping that heat for the masses.

This time around, we have the Umphako EP, 4 new tracks from him. We are already familiar with Abangani with his African Trap Music comrades, Emtee & Saudi.

Umphako is available on any good streaming platforms.…

NEW WORK: @ShabZiMadallion & @NickiWvlker – SOUL’D OUT EP

Posted By Brasmoove

Shabzi Madallion is probably the busiest urban poet out in these streets, after A-Reece & Jimmy Wiz.

This time, he is linking up with Nicki Walker for a joint project titled Soul’d Out.

Not gonna lie, I’m very very familiar with Shabzi but I thought Nicki Walker sounds like the name of an R&B singer.

Then I read the email in more detail, then I saw that Nicki is cooking up the sound plates for Shabzi to lay his food-for-thought raps. Can’t wait to hear what the 2 gents have in store for us.

Check out the track list one time 🤙🏾

This work will be dropping on the 11th of July 2018.

NEW ALBUM: @Nasty_CSA – STRINGS AND BLING

Posted By Brasmoove

Strings and Bling. Nobody really knows what that means. Well, nobody expect Nasty C, maybe.

What we do know is that Strings and Bling is highly anticipated in the SA hip hop streets, especially after the lukewarm reception to his debut album, Good Hair. We are waiting with baited breath to see if the young King can redeem himself in the rap Jungle. Strings and Bling is due to be released on Friday 6 July. This is the same release date as the Cebisa album from Zakwe (Nasty C’s label mate at Universal Music). Some friendly competition, maybe? 👀

This time around, Nasty decided to make this album a personal one, where he is rapping about his real life over production by the likes of American producers, Blu Magiq & Cxdy as well as Africa’s own Gemini Major, Tweezy , Gobbla, and up-and-coming trailblazer, Nani.

NEW ALBUM DROPPING: @ZakweSA – CEBISA

Posted By Brasmoove

The last time we had an album from Zakwe was 2015’s Impande. Man must have spent the next 3 years in a hyperbolic chamber because his new album is said to be a forewarning to other rappers to think twice before trying to get at him.

Cebisa is a Zulu word that means “advise” and is scheduled to drop on Friday6 July 2018.

The 20-track album features the lyric-heavy singles Sebentin and the Sebentin Remix which include hip hop’s heavyweights Kwesta, HHP, PRO, Musiholiq, Cassper Nyovest and Blaklez. The album captures Zakwe’s experiences with life, music and the industry.…

Tellaman has a story to tell a man: He has put pen to paper & is now signed to Universal Music Group (UMG).

Brother man has been nice with the vocals. If you don’t believe me, ask your girl. So it would only be right for him to get attention from a major record label like UMG. He also signed with UMG Live for all his bookings.

He has performed the role of live entertainer, singer, producer and songwriter at different times in his career thus far working with the likes of Nasty C, Okmalumkoolkat, Aewon Wolf, D-Malice (UK), Cuebur, Mustafa (Brazil), Jonny Miller (UK), Kwesta, Shane Eagle and many more.…

THE CRITIC | @AKAworldwide Touch My Blood Review

Posted By Circus Recipe

The weekend of June 15/16, 2018 will go down as one of the most exciting weekends in music history. The amount of big name artists that released music internationally & locally was unprecedented. One of the most anticipated releases, if not the most anticipated release of the year as far as South African Hip Hop is concerned was AKA‘s 3rd studio album which also happens to be his 1st independent album, TOUCH MY BLOOD.

AKA has teased this album for as long as most will care to remember. Having released numerous singles as precursors to it, many were left wondering how the actual album will sound like and which tracks will make the final cut.…
